Animal ID: BCA5Ginger (female)

Bearded Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Meet Ginger, an older gal with a lot of love to give. She was found as a stray in Benton County, WA during the worst snow storm of the year. She had been living in between some abandoned trailers and was unable to be caught. Good Sam were feeding her, leaving her blankets, and toys while a plan was formulated to catch her. Once the shelter staff trapped her, it took them four hours to shave all the matted hair off of her and her paws were so raw from running she took a little while to recover. She also had developed some temporary blindness due to the extreme cold she endured, but she has recovered from all of that now. She is still ... (Read More)shy, and is not great with quick movements. She would get along with other dogs once she became confident in who she was again. She would make the perfect companion for anyone with love and warm home to give. We have no idea how she would be with cat and we suggest older kids or no kids as she is not a fan of fast movement. She is mostly potty trained (just takes a few days to get her back into the swing of things) and is currently being fostered in Portland, OR and her adoption fee is $250.00. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Bearded Collie in Oregon
Bearded Collie Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. The Bearded Collie, or Beardie, as they are affectionately nicknamed, is a medium sized, happy pooch. Beardies are wonderful for households with children. Bearded Collies do not make good guard dogs. Beardies respond well to training but they have a mind of their own. Bearded Collies are very sociable and need to be with people. Beardies are natural herders who don't mind various weather conditions. They make great outside dogs and are best suited to farms or homes with a good sized yard.
