    Dakota is a very active, energetic 10 month old Idaho Fuzzy. Fuzzes are bred by ranchers for their herding abilities, stamina and loyalty, a combination of Bearded Collie, Wheaten and sometimes Airedale or Border Collie in their breeding. Protective of their territory and family, they make great watch dogs. Requiring daily mental and physical stimulation, a large secure fenced yard or acreage required. Dakota is eager to please. Dakota is a very sensitive boy and will respond to a gentle voice. He loves to run and would be a great jogging/hiking companion; loves kids that will spend time with him, though not recommended for children under 6 ... (Read More)due to his high energy level. A light shedder, will require routing grooming to keep his coat from becoming matted. Dakota is about 35 pounds at this time.     Bearded Collie Dogs can make good pets in Washington if they match your IifestyIe. The Bearded Collie, or Beardie, as they are affectionately nicknamed, is a medium sized, happy pooch. Beardies are wonderful for households with children. Bearded Collies do not make good guard dogs. Beardies respond well to training but they have a mind of their own. Bearded Collies are very sociable and need to be with people. Beardies are natural herders who don't mind various weather conditions. They make great outside dogs and are best suited to farms or homes with a good sized yard.
